The importance of story in a movie.

I would like to stress the importance of story in a movie. I was having a discussion with a mate who shall remain nameless about the importance of story in a movie. To the wider audience, the naked eye, story has barely any meaning to them what so ever. This saddens me greatly because people miss out on the meaning of a movie and only enjoy it for its big stars and special effects. What’s funny is that the actors they see up on the big screen play characters which are an integral part of a movie. Story itself though receives no appreciation, its like it has no value. Screen writers spend a hell of a long time writing screen plays so that you the audience can have some sort of enjoyment out of a film. Story is the essential key between a movie being absolute rubbish and oscar gold. The first 15 minutes are there to key an audience wanting more, keep you suspended.

Anyway I wont speak anymore of this, I just hope that next time you go and watch a movie you can appreciate the story for what it is and try to see that there’s a deeper meaning behind movies then explosions, special effects and big hollywood actors.
